1. 30-Day Trial
New monthly engagements include a 30-day trial period. If you cancel within the first 30 days, we refund any prepaid monthly fees less work performed at our standard hourly transition rate.
2. Monthly Engagements
After the trial period, monthly engagements are month-to-month and may be cancelled with 30 days written notice via info@troyaccounting.net. The current month is non-refundable; future months are not billed.
3. Annual Pre-pay
If you elected annual pre-pay (typically with a discount), unused months at cancellation are refunded on a pro-rata basis less the discount allocable to the months consumed.
4. One-Time Projects
Cleanup engagements, tax-return-only engagements, and other fixed-fee projects are billed 50% at engagement start and 50% on delivery. The first 50% becomes non-refundable when work begins; the second 50% is due on delivery and may be withheld only if the deliverable is materially deficient.
5. Client Termination for Cause
If we materially fail to perform under the engagement letter and do not cure within 30 days of written notice, you may terminate immediately and receive a refund of any prepaid fees allocable to unperformed work.
6. Our Termination Rights
We may terminate any engagement with 30 days notice, or immediately for cause (including AML / sanctions concerns, non-payment beyond 60 days, or breach of our Acceptable Use Policy). Refunds in such circumstances are limited to unused prepaid fees.
